Watermelon...cocomero What is summer without watermelon? Here in Florence they set up stands in the piazza where you can get watermelon by the slice. But be careful. Here the watermelon has seeds! My favorite place to get watermelon granita (pictured left) is Gelateria Carabé, one of the best places for gelato in Florence. Watermelon brings out the Caribbean side of me, and I always like to surprise my friends by making watermelon salad, serving it sliced with raw red onion slices and a little chili!
