Kitchens of Chianti
This weeklong program balances cooking and touring in the fantastic wine region of Chianti. We will cook with my friends in their kitchens, some professional chefs, some working farms creating wonderful recipes. Three hands-on cooking classes and visits to wineries, butchers, cheese makers, and other local artists and artisans.
Sample Program: Each week may vary as I try to include local festivals and markets.
Typically, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are cooking days.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are spent touring, meeting up with my friends and local artisans. I have several different places and events i love to include, such as truffle hunting which pairs up with touring pisa and chocolate tasting. It is also possible to include a Day at the Butchers, if meat is your passion.
Sunday: Check in and we meet later for our welcome dinner.
Monday: Cooking classes in the morning with afternoon exploring and light dinner.
Tuesday: Day trip in Chianti. Visit to Greve, Panzano and Castellina. Lunch and dinner out.
Wednesday: Market day in Certaldo, cooking class with lunch and afternoon exploring local villages and artisans. Light dinner.
Thursday: Market tour and lunch in Florence. We will have a guided tour of the city after lunch.
Friday: Final cooking class.
