he La Strada del Vino guide is not meant to be a complete guide to dining in the wine country, but a list of places I've been and liked. I hope it encourages you to explore the less-traveled roads.
If you only want a light meal or snack, look for the small bars in all the villages. They will have sandwiches, wine, water, and soft drinks. Save the restaurants for real meals! Italians only go to a restaurant to have at least a first course and main course. In fact, you may see signs saying, "Only full
meals served." Often the enoteca's or wine bars are for lighter meals. They feature wines by the glass and smaller dishes to accompany your wine.
Don't rush. Take your time and kick back. It's vacation, after all! Lunch is
served from 12:30-3 pm and dinner from 7-9 pm, or later in
the summer.
